Advertising On Mobile Phone Based Interactive Radio Makes Ads Accountable

StratosAudio service operates cooperatively or independently of broadcasters

Century City, CA - September 17, 2008 - StratosAudio is driving radio into the new information age by enabling listeners to respond to AM/FM broadcasts using select mobile phones now available nationwide. Users can respond in real-time to ads, watch live video related to ads and content, vote, engage in contests and polls, buy ringtones and select songs for purchase through iTunes, Walmart and Amazon.com.

Listeners stay engaged while interacting with unique content choices presented for each aired event. Ads are displayed in conjunction with content or synchronized with on air ads. Aired events are also stored in memory allowing time shifted safe review after broadcast.

Advertisers can obtain real time response metrics using a variety of options including a web based Ad Console for creating campaigns on the fly, bar coded promotions, web and WAP based offers, video clips and providing supplementary information to the user. Agencies and advertisers can use the service by contacting StratosAudio directly or by purchasing enabled inventory from participating broadcasters.

Both AM and FM radio services are offered. AM talk radio hosts can interact with a mass audience instantly, driving listeners to click in response to polls or obtain additional detail on programs. The Stratos ad campaign entitled "Do I have the phone?" is designed to pool over a million Americans that already have Stratos Interactive capable handsets into a single database, providing important demographic target metrics for advertisers and agencies. Entrants qualify for prizes such as consumer electronics, sporting goods and season passes.

Today, radio's technological offering is not far removed from when it first began broadcasting about 90 years ago. Recent reports by the Radio Advertising Bureau and Jim Boyle, an analyst with CL King & Associates, point to Radio's Q2 slide in earnings in local and national sales. Online sector increases were not nearly enough to offset those declines. These numbers demonstrate a need for change. The StratosAudio technology enables radio to exceed the value offered by services such as the Internet through broadcasting a call to action with immediate response, followed by real-time, measurable demographic metrics. The patented StratosAudio technology finally brings accountability to radio.

While the US radio industry has focused on efforts that have yet to demonstrate return on investment, Google connected advertisers with an online audience measured by clicks and grew to a market capitalization of over $140 billion, generating billions of revenue each year. Interactive radio has the potential to revitalize the industry by offering real time interaction and accountability. “Radio advertising has not remained competitive, with other technological offerings and sales reflect that” states Mr. Kelly Christensen, President and CEO of StratosAudio, Inc, “Our service is designed to make radio advertising effective and accountable."

Motorola and Others Collaborate to Develop Revolutionary Interactive Radio

Industry Innovators Set to Deliver Digital Quality Music and More Using Existing AM/FM Broadcast Equipment

AUSTIN, Texas . June 23, 2003 . Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) Semiconductor Products Sector is pairing its Symphony. digital radio chipset with capabilities from other technology and manufacturing innovators to deliver an in-vehicle Interactive RadioSM that promises to bring consumers more services and broadcasters more revenue. StratosAudio, Motorola and Hyundai Autonet are working to develop and demonstrate a competitively priced interactive receiver and broadcast system with content identification and one-button purchase capabilities by September 2003.

With the interactive Symphony digital radio, consumers can expect to experience great digital-quality sound with enhanced home stereo features in addition to identification, real-time response, purchase and digital download of on-air events. Broadcasters can expect to recognize increased ad revenue and listener loyalty with minimal equipment change and capital investment.

Giving Listeners More Than Music
StratosAudio, an interactive broadcast radio service provider, gives listeners a means to respond to on-air content . making purchases and requesting more information at the press of a button.

The StratosAudio Broadcast Management Software (SABMS) is designed to provide instant in-vehicle access to advertised discounts and premiums, music information, listener voting, traffic alerts and more, with follow-up via mobile phone and the Internet. This one-button capability meets the demands of listeners, including the 62 percent who, according to a 2001 Edison study, want to know the artist and title for every song they hear on the radio.

"We are intrigued by the marriage of Motorola Symphony digital radio's enhanced audio and StratosAudio's interactive services and look forward to experimenting with those capabilities," said Jeff Littlejohn, senior vice president of Engineering, Clear Channel Radio. "Today's savvy listener has shown an affinity toward Title and Artist information; the interactive Symphony Digital Radio marries that interest with listener fulfillment."

StratosAudio .s SABMS is designed to extend the reach of digital content to the vehicle. Listeners can respond while in transit or hours later by reviewing on-air events cached in the radio memory. They can buy music from major record label catalogs with hundreds of thousands of digital tracks available. These tracks may be downloaded to a PC and burned on a CD.

Launched last fall, the Symphony digital radio chipset was engineered to deliver enhanced sound quality and signal reception for existing analog broadcasts. Designed for home and automotive stereo systems, Symphony digital radio is engineered to greatly improve the reception, quality and reach of traditional AM/FM analog broadcasts.

Growing Listener Base and Ad Revenue
Real-time online reporting based on listener participation gives broadcasters and their customers precise feedback on demographic response. The interactive Symphony digital radio offers the potential for a more intimate relationship with a greater number of key listeners and the opportunity to target advertising. This capability can help secure new and existing advertisers . who, according to the Radio Advertising Bureau annual survey, want to see a return on the $20 billion (USD) a year they spend. From an investment perspective, the costs are minimal. An average broadcaster may spend up to $3,000 (USD) to acquire an RDS/RBDS (radio data system/radio broadcast data system) encoder. SABMS is designed to deliver a real-time playlist data feed to the RDS encoder for identification of on-air content in addition to data population of the station Web site, mobile devices and interactive Symphony digital radio receivers. Broadcasters who participate in the promotion of StratosAudio .s interactive services will receive a free SABMS license.

About Symphony Digital Radio
Based on Motorola 24-bit digital audio architecture, Symphony digital radio uses digital signal processors (DSPs) to filter and improve signal reception. The software architecture allows for radio tuning, audio processing and data reception simultaneously on a single processor and software thread. Listeners hear less static and fading, fewer pops and hisses. Symphony eliminates station bleed over and extends listening range due to enhanced signal reception, providing higher quality sound overall.

Pricing and Availability
Hyundai Autonet (HACO), a leading supplier of automotive electronics and long time Motorola customer, is manufacturing the interactive Symphony digital radios currently in development. StratosAudio and Motorola anticipate conducting demonstrations of the in-vehicle interactive services later this summer; receivers are scheduled to be available for retailers in time for the 2003 holiday shopping season. Consumer pricing for the radio is projected to be in line with current radios on the market and receivers are expected to be available later this year.

About StratosAudio, Inc.
StratosAudio's technology is engineered to allow radio listeners and mobile phone users to instantly purchase music and other content, respond to advertisements and talk shows at the press of a button while listening to AM/FM radio. Data captured from a radio station playlist is routed to RDS- and RBDS-compliant radios then on to the StratosAudio Business Systems Database for presentation on the Web or mobile phone. Real-time reporting based on user response is designed to increase broadcaster demographic intelligence while driving revenue. StratosAudio, Inc is headquartered in Century City, California. ENCO Systems & StratosAudio Partner at CES in Las Vegas
ENCO Systems announces strategic alliance with StratosAudio, Inc.
"ENCO (Enco Systems) is the first automation company to enable a real-time direct feed to the StratosAudio Broadcast Management Software." states Kelly Christensen, CEO of StratosAudio, Inc.

"We have successfully been testing and demonstrating interactivity with conventional radio using the ENCO Systems DADpro32 software over the past three months " explains Barry Thomas, CTO of StratosAudio. "ENCO has demonstrated their forward thinking vision by actively participating throughout our development process" Thomas said.

"We chose to become partners with StratosAudio because the broadcast industry worldwide is facing increased competition, and by enabling new revenue streams, StratosAudio and ENCO Systems can begin to provide direct benefits to broadcasters using DADpro32 and gives one more reason for stations who aren't doing so to climb on board." states Don Backus, VP of Sales & Marketing for ENCO Systems.

"One of the reasons that ENCO Systems is at CES this year is the future. Simply put, our broadcast clients need system suppliers that are willing and able to understand and develop more than just hard drive automation systems. We need to be able to assist radio stations all the way to the consumer. StratosAudio has developed a great way to do just that, and we're very pleased to be partnering with them", states Gene Novacek, President of ENCO Systems.
